Pump Assy
Had a 2 1/2 horse power pump from Rec. Warehouse would only put out 10-12 psi and was very noise. Installed this Hayward SP1580X15 Power-Flo LX Series Pump 1-1/2 Horse Power. Putting out 15psi and very little noise from pump. Only draw back is it only has one speed HIGH. Getting ready to open pool up next week. Time will tell how well it works. I believe for the money you can not beat it Rec. Warehouse wanted over $300. The pressure coming out of the return hose is great. Hope this helps you!

Hayward 1 hp Pool pump
Pump was exactly as advertised and met my needs. I didn't pay attention to the shipping details and consequently delivery took longer than expected. To be fair though shipping was prompt and delivery on time even though it was slower than I wanted.

constantly needs repairs
I have had my Hayward pool vac for about 3 years now. This pool cleaner requires constant maintenance. There are so many moving parts and they all wear out and are quite expensive to replace. At this point the pool cleaner just sits in one spot in my pool. I have tried adjusting the settings rearranging the hose replacing the feet and adjusting the pool suction. Its time to replace it and I wish I would have done it a long time ago because I have already spent more than what it would cost to replace with repairs.

Sometimes you need more power!
Several years back we had our pool redone and my wife had a new Hayward pump and filter installed. While the filter worked well the pump never seemed to move the pool cleaner systems around the pool right. We tried a few different systems the Kreepy Krawley the Barracuda etc and I finally thought that I should get the Hayward and that might work better with the Hayward pump? It was the best at cleaning the pool floor but was the worst yet with the walls. Finally this summer the pump completely siezed up and after several tries at repairs I gave up and decided to by a new pump. I considered just getting a new motor but I had a thought that "what If the pump is just the wrong one?"
I have a pretty large pool for a back yard pool and the max flow pump was a 3/4 hp which seemed like not enough so after considering volume and distance I decided on the Super Pump 1 1/2 hp. It was a very simple switch just two wires(and a ground wire of course) and the plumbing was an exact match.
Now my Hayward pool vac system literally flies around the pool and does the work in much less than half the time it would have taken before and goes into every inch of the surface sides and bottom.
I wish I would have bought it sooner.

Buyer Beware!
I bought this brand of heater for my above ground pool last year. I immediately started having problems. The unit started leaking before I had the gas installed! Then the Hayward company made accusations that the alkalinity in my pool water may have caused the problem. There was no problems with my chemically balanced pool water! I could see it was a factory defect in the solder of the copper tubing. Anyway I replaced the heat exchanger and it seemed OK. Now just a few months later... the heater will not work! The unit will not ignite and it is wasting gas! I attempted to resolve the situation by contacting the pool store in which they informed me to contact a Hayward representative. After several attempts I was unable to contact someone/anyone at Hayward. I tried to get some information from the Hayward web site... completely useless. Then trying to find someone to service this particular unit... they complained about this model H100ID1. They said they have had numerous problems with this particular heater. It is absolute junk! No help from Hayward No help from servicers No help from sellers... you are on your own! Stranded with a useless pool heater. Buyer beware!

Cool little pool vac
This is a great little vac. It hooks up to your filter intake or skimmer and vacuums straight to your filter - not a bag with holes that doesn't catch fine particles. We use ours in a 24' above ground pool made by Intex. Yes one of those temporary pools. It would work in any above ground pool! The most important thing to have is a good filter system. The filter supplied by Intex is not very good. This vac works best with a sand filter. We have a Hayward Pro Series system with a 1.5 hp Power Flo Maxtrix pump. The combination of this filter system and vacuum has saved my summers. I spent the first year with this pool spraying out the filter and hand/pole vacuuming only to see the finer particles come back into the pool through the return. It took all the pleasure out of having a pool! Now I hook up my vac (3 min) turn on the filter system (1 sec) and walk away - it's awsome!!! This little vacuum even handled our pool opening this year which included a large number of leaves and a ton of very fine particles. Unlike the super expensive Pool Rover this vacuum does not move systematically around the pool to clean in a specific period of time. It moves in ever-widening circles then goes straight for a bit and starts circling again. It can be a little vexing to see it turn just before it gets to something that you want it to vacuum up but if you give it time it will get everything. We put ours in and let in run for about an hour when we come back the pool looks great! Aqua Bug Wanda the Whale and Diver Dave are all the same vacuum with different housings.

Very brittle plastic connectors on the hose
Stay away from this unit. It's rich with features and impressive looking but expensive and poorly manufactured. I've owned one for over 2 years and it worked ok for about a year only. In the last few months it's been nothing but trouble just untangling it and replacing parts. The weakest link is the main hose that is designed as a configurable series of about 24" long plastic pipes interconnected via flexible elbow joints. Unless you're very careful untangling this thing when it wraps up tightly (at least once a week) the hard plastic nubs on the elbow joints will snap off as it gets very brittle over time. This just happened to me again last weekend and it will be my last time .... I'm going back to the Polaris.

Direct Replacement
I purchased this filter to replace the exact same model that was almost 20 years old and the valve was damaged by a freeze. Amazon had a great price and the free shipping was the final reason I purchased. The unit arrived very quickly but I could see that the box had been opened and resealed. When I opened the box it looked like a lot of the support packing had been removed. The only problem was with the base stand and had a large chip out of the edge. I did not want to send it back so I used the old stand and I works just fine. The new filter matched up to all the plumbing just fine with a few minor adjustments so I am overall happy with the product just not the shipping.
